Chlapaty, 62, was elected during the company’s board meeting held in January. He succeeds former Chairman Franklin E. Eck who passed away on December 13, 2007.
“Frank Eck’s years of leadership guided ADS to the top of the industry,” said Chlapaty. “I am honored the Board of Directors has entrusted me with leading ADS into the future.”
Chlapaty joined ADS in 1980. He has served as Chief Executive Officer since 2004, and previously served as President and Chief Operating Officer beginning in 1994.
Chlapaty is a graduate of the University of Dubuque in Dubuque, Iowa where he serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees and as Chairman of the Executive Committee. Chlapaty currently resides in Dublin, Ohio.
