New ADS Interactive CD-Rom Saves Civil Engineers Time and Money
Works with Windows/AutoCAD for Foolproof Detention/Retention System Drawings
A CD-ROM is Advanced Drainage Systems, Inc. (ADS) latest high-tech effort to aid civil engineers in designing storm water retention/detention systems. In a move considered to be the first of its kind in the industry, ADS is using the interactive audio/visual compact disc with insertable AutoCAD drawing blocks as a medium to provide design guides and product specifications to civil engineers. The ADS CD-ROM includes guidelines for sizing pipe, manifolds and fittings for subsurface systems.
The CD-ROM runs on Windows 3.1, 95 and NT. The design information is importable into AutoCAD Version 13 or higher, or AutoCAD LT release 3 or higher.
Civil engineers and drainage planners can use this CD to get information ranging from the properties of polyethylene pipe to water system design methodology. Additionally, drawing blocks of all ADS soil-tight and watertight products, including manifold fittings and 12 to 48 inch pipe, can be saved into a directory of choice and inserted into AutoCAD drawings.
"This CD-ROM is a time- and money-saving approach to designing water systems for engineers," said Tony Radoszewski, ADS marketing manager. "What used to take several hours now can take only minutes."
ADS is the world's largest producer of corrugated high density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe. The company operates 20 manufacturing facilities in the United States and provides HDPE pipe for storm and sanitary sewer, highway drainage, recreational field, landfills and waste management applications; and mining and agricultural uses.
ADS representatives located throughout the United States, along with more than 30 ADS customer service centers and 4,000 distributors, provide factory-direct products and installation information.
