FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
ROCKY HILL, Conn. – July 7, 2011 – Connecticut State Representative and House Chair of the Transportation Committee Antonio "Tony" Guerrera (D-Rocky Hill) was the featured speaker at the grand opening celebration of the new Advanced Drainage Systems, Inc. (ADS) regional office here on July 6, 2011. ADS is the world's largest producer of corrugated high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe and is headquartered near Columbus, Ohio. ADS designs and makes pipe and other products used in municipal storm and sanitary sewers, waste disposal facilities, and highway drainage projects.
"I am very happy that ADS has chosen Connecticut and especially Rocky Hill, my home town, as their location and I certainly hope they will continue to grow here in Connecticut," stated Rep. Guerrera.
ADS representatives discussed the company's long-life, cost-effective products used in infrastructure projects.
"Since we introduced our HDPE pipe over 40 years ago, ADS has continued to lead the industry by creating and improving products that meet the needs of its customers," explained Frank Seymour, vice president of sales for ADS.
"Today, ADS provides economical solutions to technical problems in drainage and sewer systems for housing developments, commercial buildings and industrial parks, as well as roads and highways, sports stadiums and golf courses," he continued. "Design engineers, utility managers and public officials find that ADS products are proven to last – some studies peg our pipe to have a 100-year life – are favorable to the environment and have a lower installed cost than any other products on the market today.
" The new ADS branch office was the headquarters of StormTech, LLC, which ADS acquired in March 2010. StormTech chambers meet the rigorous demands of subsurface storm water management, and provide cost-effective and optimal underground detention for storm water runoff.
Advanced Drainage Systems, Inc. was founded in 1966 and serves the storm and waste water industry through a global network of 51 domestic and international manufacturing plants and 23 distribution centers. In addition to its flagship N-12® pipe, and HP Sanitary and Storm pipe, the company offers a complete line of fittings and other accessories including StormTech® storm water chambers, Nyloplast® drainage structures, INSERTA TEE® fittings, plus storm water treatment units and various geotextiles.
